Desde cartas de jogar às inevitáveis mensagens ecológicas para salvar o planeta, passando por príncipes e princesas, sem esquecer as peles de foca, foram muitos os motivos que educadores de infância e professores encontraram para colorir as ruas da baixa de Faro ao longo da manhã.
O desfile – com duração um pouco menor do que noutros anos - começou no Jardim Manuel Bívar e percorreu a Rua de Santo António, terminando no palco instalado na Pontinha, onde os pais e familiares aguardavam os rebentos.
O sol foi rei durante a festa, que teve na escola EB1 de São Luís a maior representação, com 430 meninos e meninas.
Porventura com menos participação do que em anos anteriores – sobretudo quando os petizes desfilavam pela Avenida 5 de Outubro abaixo -, o Carnaval das crianças foi, como é costume, uma oportunidade para os mais velhos.
Os papás para tirar fotos e fazer filmagens para a família, os educadores de infância para mostrarem (ao menos uma vez por ano) a alguns progenitores mais distraídos o resultado do trabalho nos espaços onde todos os dias deixam os seus filhos.
O desfile de Faro é apresentado como “o maior do Algarve” dentro do género, mas a proeza de tirar carros da rua e substituí-los por crianças repete-se em outras localidades da região.
